How to Build a House · Free live session

We’ve helped build 300+ homes. Let’s talk about yours.

Every other week, DEN’s CEO Mike Romanowicz hosts a free, hour‑long session on Zoom: how a build actually comes together — land, budget, permits, builders — drawn from six years of helping people go from raw land to finished home. Then he answers your questions. No pitch. Come wherever you are in the process.

The agenda

One hour, the whole process.

Whether you’re still looking at land or already have plans in hand, the questions are the same. What will it really cost? Will my land work? Who actually builds it?

Mike walks the full arc of a build the way he’d explain it to a friend, then opens the floor. It’s a working session, not a presentation.

First 15 min
Land & site
What makes a lot buildable: access, utilities, slope, septic, and the checks to run before you buy.
Next 15 min
Real budgets
What houses actually cost to build right now, where budgets blow up, and how to set a number you can trust.
Next 15 min
Permits, plans & your team
How zoning and engineering work, and who does what: designer, engineer, general contractor.
Back half
Open Q&A
Bring anything, at any stage. This is the part people come back for.
From a past session. The format, the pace, and the kinds of questions people bring.
What it’s like

More workshop than webinar.

Every session has people at every stage, from “just started looking at land” to “breaking ground next month.” Mike answers with real numbers and real timelines, and says so when the honest answer is “it depends on your county.”

Watch a few minutes of a past session and you’ll know exactly what you’re signing up for.

Coming up

Special-topic sessions.

Financing your build
Construction loans, land loans, and how lenders look at a new build.
Guest interviews
Builders, lenders, and engineers on what makes a project run smoothly.
Real build breakdowns
A finished project, line by line: the timeline, the budget, and the surprises.
Who’s behind this

Your first build. Our 300th‑something.

DEN designs house plans and prefab cabin kits. Over six years, more than 300 homes have been built with them. The session is free and useful whether or not you ever work with us. If you want help pressure-testing your own site and budget afterward, that’s what our feasibility work is for. But start with the session.
