DEN Outdoors is a modern home-design company built on a simple idea: the kind of home that usually takes a custom design firm, a fat retainer, and eighteen months of back-and-forth should be available off the shelf — designed once, beautifully, then handed to anyone with a plot of land and a vision.
We started in 2020, after our founder built a cabin he called the Fox Den and ran headfirst into how opaque, slow, and needlessly expensive the whole process was. So we productized it. Today we have 40+ proprietary designs, a platform for real-time collaboration, and homes standing across the U.S. and beyond — with a prefab kit system that turns a stack of plans into a weather-tight shell in days.

Meet Mike Romanowicz.
Mike didn’t set out to start a company — he set out to build one cabin. The Fox Den was a personal project, and getting it made turned into a masterclass in everything wrong with how homes get designed: high fees, hazy timelines, and precious few good-looking options a normal person could actually afford.
He figured plenty of other people wanted the same thing he did — a genuinely beautiful home, without the runaround. So in 2020 he built DEN to deliver it. Five years on, DEN has sold hundreds of plans, watched dozens of builds come to life, and added prefab kits to the mix — making the whole dream more attainable than it’s ever been.
