Introducing the Outpost Medium

Hello, I'm Mike, the founder of Den, and I'm thrilled to introduce the Outpost Medium. This beautiful building is the culmination of four years of hard work and innovation. Our building package plans are extensive, comprising 53 pages of detailed instructions to ensure you can successfully construct this design. With each new design, our team learns from you, our customers, as well as our builder partners and the various architects and engineers we collaborate with. We're in constant dialogue, always striving to improve our product quality.

When I started Den, my goal was to make thoughtfully designed, beautiful buildings accessible to American customers who might not traditionally be able to afford them. The Outpost Medium achieves exactly that – it's an incredibly inspiring building with unique design features, including a distinctive roof, soaring 25.5-foot high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire length, and an ample floor plan featuring three bedrooms, two living spaces, three bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen.

We developed the Outpost Medium in response to customer feedback. Many of you loved the shape of the Outpost and Outpost Plus but wanted something more substantial to support full-time or family living. We're pleased to deliver a plan that includes 2,015 square feet with clever wall-to-wall space planning.

As a father of two young children, I particularly appreciate the layout. There are two bedrooms on the bottom floor for the kids, and a private adult space in the loft section, including a master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and a versatile space for working and relaxing. The journey to the loft is easy, with a well-balanced entryway, hallway, and mudroom. The exposed staircase from the main floor to the loft serves as a grand design feature.

For cooking enthusiasts, the kitchen offers ample counter space for preparing intricate meals, plenty of serving area, and appropriate built-in cabinetry for appliance storage and increased overall storage. Like its predecessors, the Outpost Medium creates a dramatic effect when you're inside, thanks to the high ceilings and thoughtfully designed windows. The kitchen and living space are both inspiring and cozy.

A signature feature of Den designs is the strategic placement of windows or door openings at the end of hallways, staircases, or opposite entry doors. This makes the building feel permeable, literally letting the outdoors in.

For those considering the Outpost Medium as a short-term rental asset, its unique and distinctive design will help it stand out in the crowded Airbnb market. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, it offers flexibility for friends and families, potentially yielding higher nightly rates.

Like most Den designs, the Outpost Medium features a well-placed wood or gas-burning stove in the living area, providing warmth and entertainment. As the saying goes, "A fire is camping's TV."
