We strive to constantly improve DEN’s offering in response to feedback from our community of 200,000 followers and our thousands of plan customers across the world.

Over four years of running DEN, we've discovered our true strength: helping people launch their dream architectural home projects. DEN has become the go-to platform for getting your project off the ground - quite literally. We excel in three core areas:

Today, we’re excited to announce a continuation of our effort to make DEN easier to use and hopefully, even more useful for the thousands of you who are considering DEN as a plans provider or pre-construction vendor for an upcoming build.

Starting on October 1st, DEN will offer two types of home design packages:

1. Like the Starter package we offer today, the DEN Planning package is made for those at the earliest stage of their building journey. This package includes preliminary floor plans and elevations for the design of your choice, access to our home design platform, and a 30 minute discovery call with our expert team intended to help provide answers to site specific questions, advise on the pre-construction process, local pricing and more.
2. The price of the DEN Planning Package can be used as a credit to upgrade to the DEN Building Package
3. DEN Planning does not provide you with a license to build a DEN*.

1. The DEN Building Package gives you everything you need to begin your pre-construction process on a standard DEN design, including a full license to build your DEN and customize any element of your DEN using a third-party service or by purchasing an a la carte customization service from DEN.
2. The Building Package offers a full license to build one DEN.

FAQs

Why are we making these changes?

Our goal is to make DEN simpler to understand. Our Planning Package is designed to help you plan and get pricing from a local contractor, but does not give users license to build. When you’re ready to build, the Building Package gives you a full license to build. The new pricing model for the Building Package is as follows:

• <900 sq ft is $1,999
• 900-1299 sq ft is $2,999
• 1300-1799 sq ft is $3,999
• >1800 sq ft is $4,999

Is this just a backdoor way of announcing that you’re increasing prices?

For a handful of designs, this change does represent a slight increase. If you have been eyeing one of those designs, we highly encourage you to take advantage of the ability to purchase them at the current pricing until October 1st.

When will these changes go into effect?

These changes will go into effect on October 1st. Prior to October 1st, you will be able to purchase a Starter Package for $199, and each design will continue to have its own unique Complete Package pricing.

Why can’t I build a DEN using a Planning Package?

Purchasing a Planning Package and using it to build a DEN is a violation of our copyright and illegal, and our goal is to offer our Building Packages at rates that are a fraction of the cost of engaging a professional design practice.

Will you still offer complimentary discovery calls?

We are no longer able to offer complimentary discovery calls as our customer base increases in size. As DEN is a small (but mighty!) team, we need to make sure we have ample bandwidth to support paying customers, and as such, we’ve decided to make discovery calls part of the DEN Planning package moving forward.
